Quote of the Week

Maybe the most any of us can expect from ourselves isn’t perfection but progress.

Well…I needed this quote…Every week before I go to orchestra I panic become queezy and well basically freak out. One because I am the only viola player and two because I want to play my part just right, note for note. The entire practice I am sweaty and, well, nervous. Tonight after rehearsal, I almost cried because of my lack of “perfection.” Then I realized…I don’t have to be perfect!!! I am just involved in this ministry to praise God and have fun! STOP TRYING TO BE PERFECT MYA!!! It’s what I said to myself all the way home…It’s a useless attempt. I will never be perfect…not at viola or any other aspect in my life…so this week instead of perfection I will strive for progress…Maybe if I stop trying to be perfect, stop relying on my flesh for perfection, and rely on the Holy Spirit to perfect my faults and change me, I will be able to really progress in what God has in store for me…and maybe, just maybe, I’ll be a more relaxed and effective viola player :-)
