FAQ – Geography
Question: Where exactly is Tanzania?
Answer:
Tanzania is in East Africa, located on the Indian Ocean.

It borders Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, and Malawi.

Mbeya is in the Southwest region of Tanzania.


It’s located in the highlands at 5,500 feet.

Just an FYI – we won’t have a wealthy, massive-amount-of-land-owning neighbor named Dr. Congo when we get to TZ. The DR on the first map stands for Democratic Republic.

Haha, I love the second map… isn’t that white space on the southwest border Zambia? Wonder why it doesn’t get a mention…

Yes, that is Zambia. Good eye! It doesn’t get mentioned because I got the map from an organization that’s showing their “region” and they aren’t in Zambia. It was the best map I could find of a close up of the general area around Tanzania.
