Try it Tuesday – Creamy Chicken
“Try it Tuesday” is hosted by Naturally Knocked Up. I thought it would be fun to participate! Go there for the other entries.
We’re having some trouble getting chicken here – again. Thankfully I got some canned chicken in a care package so I threw this together in the crock-pot:
white chicken breast (mine is canned)
cream of mushroom soup
mushrooms
paprika
garlic salt
lentils (my healthy add-in for almost everything)
We served it over brown rice for a somewhat healthy meal for someone just starting out trying to eat a more healthy diet. We’ve progressed to this from chicken parmesan.

this looks delicious! how much of each thing did you add? I’d love to try it! Did you cook the lentils first?

okay, sorry. I’m not much of a measurer for this kind of dish. I used 3 cans of the chicken, 1 can of mushrooms, 2 cans of the soup, then i just added some paprika, garlic salt, and lentils (yes I cooked them ahead of time). The problem is that all those cans made it very salty so I’d use fresh mushrooms and fresh chicken breasts and I’d use fresh garlic cloves instead of garlic salt. Then it would be really yummy I think.
