My Second Woo-Hoo

I don’t know when exactly my second woo-hoo of the season will be or what the situation will be but if you’re reading this on Sunday… know that I’m watching the Daytona 500…

Woo-Hoo!

WOO-HOO

racecrowd.jpgWell, I had my first woo-hoo of the year.  It happened Saturday night during the Bud Shootout.  (First Nascar race of the season)  I wasn’t even paying all that much attention to the race but then it happened.  Tony Stewart (who I like) got Kyle Busch (who I DON’T like AT ALL) loose and passed him for the lead.  And that’s all it took.  I threw my hands up and yelled woo-hoo.  I had forgotten about the small space I’m in so I slammed my hands, instead of into the air, into the cabinets above the sofa.  My sweet, sleeping poodle became ‘nervous, what’s going on’ poodle.  But that’s okay.  Tony went on to win and Kyle’s 2-tire pit stop proved a bad decision.  Fine with me!!

But none of these guys are MY DRIVER.  The one I pull for the most is Carl Edwards.  I have a song for him…

Carl, Carl, he’s the man.  If he can’t do it, nobody can.  Goooo Carl!

My mom has a Tony Stewart song although I can’t remember it.  I have a selective memory.  :)

Now we’re watching qualifying.  That’s how bad I’ve got it.

When I lived in California I watched the race at home by myself and I would yell, scream, and jump up and down.  My poor dogs would go upstairs and hide under the bed.  Now there is no under the bed.  (Actually there is but it’s also the ‘trunk’.)  It’s interesting that I ever even became involved in this Nascar stuff but now I do enjoy it.

Here are the guys I like and dislike, for any of you who actually care.  See, you have to have a ‘good guys’ list and a ‘bad guys’ list so you have plenty to watch during a race.  You want a few to do well and a few to do badly.  Here’s the list.

Good Guys

“Cousin” Carl Edwards, Kevin “Happy” Harvick, Jeff Burton, Tony “Smoke” Stewart, Dale Jr., Kasey Kahne, David Ragan, Denny Hamlin, Elliott Sadler

Bad Guys

Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Robby Gordon, Jimmie Johnson (we get tired of the constant winners, that’s just the way it is), Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle, Brian Vickers

That’s a long list, I understand.  But if your main guy goes out you have to have others to pull for and against.  And sometimes pulling against is as fun as pulling for.

So that’s my racin’ story.  Sunday morning Pastor Furtick used the illustration that rednecks go to races.  Either he’s sorely mistaken or I need to face the truth.

Woo-hoo!  :)
